The highest Colombian waterfalls

A striking natural attraction

With a 2000 feet drop, Las Chorrera Waterfall is the tallest waterfall in the whole country. The walk to reach the falls is a journey in itself. While the majority of the hike takes place in the cloud forest, it will also take you through small local farms and offer fantastic panoramic views. The first waterfall you will see is El Chiflon. Here, you must pay a 8.000 COP entrance fee. After a total hike of 1 hour, you will start to hear to roaring sound of the Chorrera Falls. Hike 10 minutes further to the bottom of the falls to enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pool.

The use of traveling is to regulate imagination with reality, and instead of thinking of how things may be, see them as they are. – Samuel johnson

Located an hour and a half from Bogotá, in Choachí.

Comment s'y rendre :

La Chorrera Waterfalls are situated about an hour drive from Bogota. You must prepare for a 3 hour, round trip, journey for the hike, as well as the time spent at the falls. There are two bus companies that travel to La Chorrera Waterfalls from Bogota: Transoriente and Cootransfómeque. Both prices are $8 USD round trip per person. Tell the driver to drop you off at the trailhead of the waterfalls, if not, you’ll end up going way too far.
