Stunning coastal walk

Irish beauty

The Ballycotton cliff walk is an easy trek overlookng the sea along the coast. It is 7km in length (3.5km there and 3.5km back) and should take around 2 – 2.5 hours in total, depending on pace. It offers panoramic view and picturesque landscapes. The village of Ballycotton is known for its picturesque harbor and lighthouse, which has been in operation since 1851. Ballycotton is also a popular destination for fishing, boating, and other water-based activities. The area around Ballycotton is rich in history, with numerous prehistoric and medieval sites nearby. The nearby Ballynamona Beach is a protected area and is home to a variety of bird species. The current village is actually a re-settlement of an older village which is now entirely underwater
